About this song
A Picnic in the Garden starts with a question: what shall we pick? Every time Rosy finds something she loves (blueberries, bananas, strawberries) Lilly wants it too. “It’s not fair!” And every time, Rosy answers the same way: “Don’t worry, don’t worry, I will share.”
The song names the real feeling a three-year-old has before it resolves it, which is why the sharing line sticks. It ends on the last pear, and the best answer of all: cut it in four, so everyone gets a piece.
What it teaches: Sharing and taking turns, naming big feelings, fruit names, fractions in the simplest form (cutting into four)

A Picnic in the Garden - Lyrics
We’re having a picnic
We’re having a picnic
Fruits and vegetables
What shall we pick?
Ooh, let me see
Blueberries, blueberries
I love blueberries
I love blueberries too, it’s not fair!
Don’t worry, don’t worry, I will share
Ooh, look
Bananas, bananas
I love bananas
I love bananas too, it’s not fair!
Don’t worry, don’t worry, I will share
We’re having a picnic
We’re having a picnic
Fruits and vegetables
What shall we pick?
Ooh, what’s that?
Strawberries, strawberries
I love strawberries
I love strawberries too, it’s not fair!
Don’t worry, don’t worry, I will share
Pears, oh pears
Oh no, this is the last pear
We love pears too, it’s not fair
Don’t worry, cut it in four
I will share
We’re having a picnic
We’re having a picnic
Fruits and vegetables
What shall we pick?
