About this song
The Garden Dance Song is a dance-along that teaches the real steps for planting a seed. Each verse is one garden job with its own move: shake the seed packet, then jump; dig a small hole, then drop the seed in; cover it over, then clap; fill the watering can, then splash. After every “And jump!” or “And clap!” there is a little pause, so your child can have a go.
Rosy leads the shaking, Diggy does the digging (of course), Lilly pats the soil flat and Poppy gets the biggest splash. At the end, all eight moves come together, then once more, and keep an eye on the soil: by the last chorus, something has started to grow.
It is great for rainy days, circle time and getting the wiggles out before quiet time.
What it teaches: The steps for planting a seed, following actions, big movements (jumping, scooping, splashing), a pincer grip for dropping the seed, sequencing and memory
